I've been using a 'Natural Voice' approach to teaching singing to groups for the last nine years. My approach is open, inclusive and accessible, in line with the Natural Voice Practitioners' Network ethos, but most of all it's about having fun singing.
My approach involves lots of laughter and creating a safe place for people to try out their voices in a group setting. The material I use is an eclectic mix drawn from around the world, from a wide variety of countries and vocal traditions. It might be Eastern European, African or some 60's Doo Wop.
I run a regular choir, Coastal Voices, that meets in Abergele each Tuesday evening. This choir performs occasionally at charity events. All voices are welcome.
I've been involved in working with a women's mental health charity. Singing can be such a powerful tool in drawing people together, and helping them feel connected. Many of the women commented how much stronger their speaking voices felt after the workshops.
I also run day and half day workshops for interested groups, contact me for more detils.
