I take pleasure in inviting you to explore this website. It provides you with information about the role of the Governor, and the history of Government House. The Governor is the representative of The Queen as Head of State in Western Australia and has certain constitutional duties, and performs associated Vice-Regal functions and powers. In addition, the role encompasses a wide range of ceremonial, civic and community responsibilities.
On this website you will find links to selected speeches which I have made, advice on protocol, a list of events and functions attended, and information on the procedures to be followed should you wish to invite me to attend an event or in some other way provide support and encouragement to your organisation. I am particularly keen to assist those organisations which strive to enhance and benefit the WA community.
The website contains information on the magnificent House and gardens which have been the home of successive Governors of Western Australia since 1863. I am delighted to share the gardens with the people of Western Australia, and invite you to visit them (open several times a week) and to participate in a guided tour of the House on open days.
