Sport As an accredited Healthy School, we believe sport is essential in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Learning Together New Reception children experience school, with their parents, during our annual Learning Together sessions in the summer term. At the heart of the community May Day dancing is just one of the many ways our children are involved in the local community. Outdoor learning Learning outside is as important to us as learning inside. Our children grow their own food and sell our hens eggs, learning valuable lessons for life. Breakfast Club We run a daily breakfast club from 8.00am, which provides breakfast and child care for working families. Porthpean Residential In September we take our junior children on a three day residential to access team building activities through the experience of climbing, high wires, kayaking, archery, canoeing and coasteering. School Orchestra The orchestra meets before school on a Wednesday. Junior children play instruments ranging from violins to brass and clarinets to flutes. 140 Years in the community Harrowbarrow School has a long history, stretching back to 1872, but our principles for educating children are firmly rooted in the 21st century.
