besides a fortified palace atop a hill called tira on the left bank of river beas, king abhaya chand commissioned construction of several other structures, temples, buildings etc. in sujanpur. the one square kilometer green chaugan ground of the present day sujanpur tira town was also created by the same king. this ground was used for war practice. the ground has 8 feet high wall all around it with a number of passages. two main temples located at opposite ends of the ground include murlimanohar temple (1790 ad) and nardeshwar temple (1823 ad). most of sujanpur's population lives around this ground.
