Step Garden

the step garden of saputara is located on the table land road in the area of dang forest of the sahyadri range of mountains. the name 'saputara' of the hill station means the 'abode of serpents' which is an integral part of the religion and culture of this region and is worshipped as gods by the tribal's of the area.

saputara also attracts tourists because of the presence of several beautiful gardens. one such garden is the step garden. as the name suggests the garden is laid out in steps with the steps being adorned with flowerpots and vases which have beautiful flowers growing out of them. there is also the presence of beautiful wooden carvings done on many of the decorative artefacts placed throughout the garden. the walls of the step garden are lined with tall pine and other trees. on the inside there is a brick path that takes you through the several levels of the garden. there is also a magnificently designed fountain that accompanies all levels of the garden.

the beautifully designed step garden also has facilities for visitors for staying here in the various forest huts. these forest huts were specifically designed and made for the total comfort of the tourists, and are placed at the centre of the garden to give visitors a perfect view of the garden even while relaxing in the huts. there is also a children's garden that has an open space to play around. this is the perfect place for spending some time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
