ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: Alcohol-free park. Please do not bring alcoholic beverages. WATER QUALITY: Current information on swimming water quality. PETS: Pets are not permitted in the park during the summer season from April 15 through September 30. Pets on a leash are permitted in picnic areas and on hiking trails from October 1 to April 14. Squantz State Park, New Fairfield Directions From the West/New York area: Take I-684 onto I-84 east toward Danbury. Take Exit 5 and go left at the traffic light onto Route 39 north, following the signs to Squantz Pond. The park is located off Route 39 approximately 4? miles north of the center of New Fairfield. From East on I-84: Take Exit 6 in Danbury. Take a right at the traffic light onto Route 37. Follow the signs on Route 37 until you arrive in New Fairfield Center. Take a right at the traffic light onto Route 39 traveling north for approximately 4? miles to the park entrance. From lower Fairfield County area: Go north on Route 7 onto I-84 east to Danbury. Take Exit 5 and go left at the traffic light onto Route 39 north, following the signs to Squantz Pond. The park is located off Route 39 approximately 4? miles north of the center of New Fairfield. From Bridgeport area: Go north onto Route 25 onto I-84 west. Take Exit 5 and go left at the traffic light onto Route 39 north, following the signs to Squantz Pond. The park is located off Route 39 approximately 4? miles north of the center of New Fairfield. Fees There are separate weekend/holiday and weekday parking fees (in effect daily from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day from 8:00 a.m to 6:30 p.m.) at Squantz Pond State Park.
State Park/Forest Fees | Season and other Park Passes Map Hiking Map Overview Squantz Pond immerses the visitor in a "mountain like" setting. Steep, wooded slopes disappear into the cool, blue pond below. In the fall, the park becomes a haven for photographers capturing the colorful reflection of the foliage in the mirrored surface of the water. In 1926 Squantz Pond was established as a state park.
