Quiet Waters Park

A Little History

Using funds from the 1978 bond issue, Broward County acquired this 431.4-acre property in the early 1980s from Houdaille, a major dredge-and-fill contractor that used the site essentially as a "borrow pit." The proposed name of Lakeview Park was abandoned in favor of Quiet Waters by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. The park opened to the public in March 1983. Splash Adventure, an interactive children's water playground, opened in the southeast corner of the park in 1995.

Pets, where permitted, must be on a leash no longer than six feet. 5. No swimming or wading except in designated areas. 6. Use common sense while in this park.
