Climbing is a popular activity taking place at weekends and evenings. The climbing wall is also used during break times as pupils traverse across in pairs. A more recent addition to Abberley is the tree house, adjacent to the playing fields built within the school woods. This is more like a multi-functional tower. It is insulated to provide year round comfort during evening visits and provides a base for a zip wire, a high ropes course, a climbing wall and abseiling tower, as well as an observation point for viewing birds and animals. Incorporated into these activities we also encourage the making of independent and group shelters combined with basic camp fire cooking.
