Mountain Sinyukha

A couple of centuries is too short a period for changes in nature, and today numerous tourists are still admiring the beauty of Kolyvan vicinities: lake Beloe with a fairy‑tale island in the center, Mountain Ocharovatelnaya (Charming), an an?cient sanctuary and place for astronomic observations, Moun?tain Sinyukha with an amazingly beautiful lake Mokhovoe in a pine forest on the mountain hill and a holy spring on the top. Only one thing has changed: visiting of many interesting plac?es which earlier required much time and thorough preparation are accessible to any guest of Altai during excursions and edu?cational tours. Campgrounds and equipped beaches function on lake Beloe and near mountain Sinyukha, places for rest with fire places and sheds created along walking and horse routes. Educational tours to the mines of Kolyvanstroi are organized here. A simple rafting down the river Belaya will be a perfect relaxation. The ascent to Mount Revnyukha (1111 meters) is attractive from both historic and aesthetic point of view. From the top of the mountain there opens a magnificent panoram?ic view of foot‑hills, and on its eastern slope there is located Revnev stone quarry from which a large jasper monolith for the “Queen of Vases” was dragged.
