The Magonye Gorge includes Dinkgwana, regarded as a sacred place and ancestral site, Kgophu ya Dinonyane (Birds Spring), a small spring which attracts many types of birds, Khophu ya Thukwi (Aardvaarks) where Aardvaarks once were found in large numbers. It is advisable to visit the site in the afternoon when birds, baboons and other species around for their routine water drinking. Getting There: From Boatle, drive west across the Metsimaswaana river and continue to Mogonye junction. Turn left into Mogonye junction and drive until you see a bus stop, which places you in Mogonye village. The pathways may be difficult to find, and therefore it is better to make arrangements with the local guide to help tour you around the area and also give you a brief history of the village.
