There are hares, foxes and wild boars in the surrounding forest. An occasional leopard can also be spotted.

Tansa Lake- Tansa is a picturesque lake, housed within the Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary near Thane. It is one of the largest lakes supplying water to Mumbai. It is a perennial source of water supply to the wildlife in the sanctuary.
Vandri Lake- Vandri Lake is a large lake nestling between the Kondra hills and the Takmak range, 3 km from Dhekala. There are not many trees around this lake, yet it is very pleasant and is an ideal picnic spot. There is a path from the lake which takes the tourists to Takmak fort.
