We had the pleasure of sailing in the San Blas with our friends Wayne and Elaine just before Christmas 2008. We've read so many things about this area from sailors and Panamanians that we wanted to see it for ourselves. It was everything everyone had said. Pristine is the first word that comes to mind, unspoiled, traditional, and a trip back in time. The Kunas that inhabit and own this area are fiercely jealous of their land. Some of the historical stories are pretty amazing. We booked our sailing from San Blas Sailing - our skipper was Mats on his boat Da Capo - he was touted as a chef and he was great at creating master pieces from such a small galley. the boat was comfortable, Mats was knowledgeable and a character at the same time. We'd do this again.
