Wow, it has been a while since my last entry--too busy enjoying the seas I suppose! This winter in Kaua'i has been one of our best! With the great conditions, we were able to make numerous trips to the Forbidden Isle, including a special trip to South Point Ni'ihau, two mind-blowing trips to Kaula Rock (very rare dive site 23 miles off the coast of Ni'ihau), and had spectacular humpback whale encounters on many of our dives! Oh, and let's not forget the sharks, Uluas, and many other critters we have been enjoying. We also visited one of our newer spots, the East Side Walls, many times, which is proving to be a real gem (due, in part, to the abundance of beautiful black coral, which is the Hawai'i state gem)!
As we get into summer and lose our large north swells, we are looking forward to many more crossings to Ni'ihau and dives along the Na Pali Coast! This week, we have Ni'ihau adventures scheduled for both Wednesday and Saturday, with forecasts showing light winds and excellent water conditions. Our beloved Hawaiian monk seals are back in the area playing with us on our dives and we are looking forward to some amazing charters!
