With Stuart Range Outback Tours you will see the town with a difference and will appreciate its uniqueness and history.Tour an authentic Coober Pedy dugout and learn about life underground.  This underground home (or dugout as the locals call them) was excavated in the original method using picks and shovels and a lot of blood, sweats and tears.  Built forty years ago by three women this attraction is an insight in to the strength of character that Coober Pedy was built on.  Open:  Monday - Saturday  8.30am to 5pm and Sundays 2pm to 5pm.Oasis Town & Mine Tours  and Sunset Breakaways Tours run daily and are approx. 3 hours, Town & Mine Tours visit Underground homes, churches, Museum and mine, opal fields,fossick for your own Opal and watch an award winning documentary in and underground theatre with complimentary tea and coffee. Sunset Breakaways Tours include the Moon Plains, Dog Fence, Mica Fields, plenty of time to relax and take photos while you enjoy warm muffins and tea or coffee while you watch the sun set over the magnificent Breakaways.
